Future Charging Tech and Best Charging Products

Charging is an integral part of our lives and the reason for that is because we own lots of portable devices. In this day and age, using appliances or devices that stays stationary isn’t really acceptable and that’s because we’re always on the move. We have things to do and places to be. One of the main things that come to mind with portable tech is smartphones. Most people own smartphones as it’s a necessity since we have to keep in contact with friends and family and own a phone can practically be a necessity even for work purposes.

If there’s one thing that we all fear when it comes to our portable devices, it would be a low battery power. Battery tech hasn’t really improved all that well over the years, and as much as we’d like it to it’s not exactly going to happen anytime soon because batteries have to be tested for the long-term and must be made to survive even the most extreme conditions so the user is kept safe at all times.

As a result, the solution right now is for smartphones and other portable devices such as tablets and laptops to have larger batteries so they’re able to last longer. The main problem with this is that with a larger battery you also get a longer charging time. The solution to this problem is to have faster-charging technologies available that are able to charge devices at a faster rate.

The two main technologies on the market that are being quite widely are known as Quick Charge and Power Delivery.

    Quick Charge:

Quick Charge tech has actually been around for quite a while, but it’s really only meant for Android smartphones. The reason for that is because Quick Charge can be used with phones that use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors and that those are used with a lot of Android phones. Apple does not use Qualcomm processors so the use of Quick Charge with them is impossible.

    Quick Charge

That said, if you do have a compatible Quick Charge smartphone, then all you need is a Quick Charge charger to charge it at Quick Charge speeds. What Quick Charge does is that it makes the Voltage higher and therefore maintains makes the Amperage, which is basically keeping the charging speed more stable.

With all that said, as awesome as Quick Charge is, it can’t really be universal because you have to implement Qualcomm tech in a lot of devices and that’s not really possible if we’re talking about having the charging tech be available universally. Instead, there’s another powerful charging tech called Power Delivery that is growing along with the new standard of charging which is USB-C.

    USB-C and Power Delivery

The standard of USB-C has been growing rapidly and that’s a very good thing because it’s able to offer faster charging, it’s reversible so you’re going to place it in your smartphone or other devices the correct way every time and it’s capable of charging at Power Delivery Speeds.

Power Delivery is a very powerful form of charging that can potentially go all the way up to 100W. The idea of Power Delivery is that you’re actually going to be able to use a single charger for all your devices and that’s basically possible today.

    USB-C and Power Delivery

For example, the Essential phone is compatible with Power Delivery and therefore you can use a USB-C Power Delivery wall charger along with USB-C to USB-C charging cable to charge it. At the same time, if you own a MacBook that uses USB-C or a Chromebook that uses USB-C, then you can use the same Power Delivery wall charger to charge those laptops too. As a result, you can use the same wall charger for both your small smartphones and also for your larger laptop.

Just to give you an idea of just how important USB-C is, Apple actually made a single USB-C port on their new MacBook model to make a statement to show that USB-C is actually the future. Somewhat the way they got rid of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in order to make a statement to show that Bluetooth is the future of connectivity.

    Most Popular Charging Electronics:

With so much going on in the charging electronic space, it’s good to know what the best charging products are and it all basically begins with wall chargers.

    Most Popular Charging Electronics

Wall chargers are the basis of charging our portable devices and at the time, they power and recharge other charging electronics. Wall chargers are the charging products that we’re most familiar with and that’s because they come with the new smartphones and tablets that we purchase.

The reason that wall chargers are the basis for charging is that they’re actually used to recharge power banks and they also power wireless chargers so you can actually charge your devices wirelessly.

Portable chargers are a game changer when it comes to charging our devices in general because they’re basically a wall charger that you can take with you anywhere. The only real flaw with portable chargers is that they have a power capacity and once it runs out you have to recharge it.

That said, the pros definitely outweigh the cons when it comes to portable charging because you’re able to take powerful charging technologies such as Quick Charge and Power Delivery with you anywhere. As a result, you can sit anywhere in a library and not have to worry about being next to an AC Outlet when it comes to charging your MacBook that uses Power Delivery; as you can now purchase a power bank that uses Power Delivery.

Another thing to consider about getting the best power banks is that they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so choosing your need of power capacity and size/weight is a vital step to getting one.

Car charging may not seem vital for some, but car chargers are the perfect charging electronic for those “in-between” moments of life and that would be going from one destination to another. We sometimes to use navigation apps when we’re going to a place that we haven’t been before and so using a power intensive app such as Google Maps can drain the battery quite quickly.

Using a car charger prevents your smartphone from depleting its battery power and lets you have full battery power by the time you reach your destination.
